Caraval - Stephanie Garber
This "Caraval" thing is actually a mysterious game. Most of this book you are in a game but you have literally no idea what is going on! Who is the good guy? Who is the bad guy? Who is on your side and who is not? Was what happened before supposed to help you or not? WHAT IS HAPPENING? You read the whole book with a bunch of questions that you find really fun and exciting. And I believe this is the best part of this amazing book.
Even though the main character Scarlett was really timid I really liked how her character changes and shows growth. I am generally the type of reader who has problems with the main character but somehow I liked this main character. Julian is kind of her companion in the book. I have no idea how I managed that, but I didn’t know if he was a wicked person or not so I felt very conflicted but at the same time I really liked him.
While reading this book, every line kept me in suspense. Scarlett and Julian generally had that chemistry which makes the reading fun.
Considering this book is the author’s debut, she describes this fantasy world so well and she creates an awesome atmosphere. Also the audiobook is read by Rebecca Soler who is amazing! The whole book comes alive through her voice. So if you like audiobooks or if you haven't tried one before, go ahead and try this one! I liked the ending of the book, because I always thought that this book was going be cliché and all my theories were going to be right but nope! I was really surprised and that is why this book touched my heart.
I totally recommend it! So go ahead and read it or listen to it!
Bye!
